When does vacation start? As soon as you clock out from work on Friday (if you're not blessed with retirement)? As soon as you leave to go wherever you've planned? Well, whenever it is I feel like I'm there. This next week will probably be the busiest week I've ever had and I'm supposed to be on vacation. To start from the beginning, my friend Barry (who currently resides in Canada, ay) will be arriving tonight around 9:00 p.m with his girlfriend Cassidy, who's never been to California. Tomorrow morning we leave for San Francisco (along with Barry's sister Becky) for the day. Monday is a holiday so we're going to just kick it here in Fresno at Barry's dad's house. Tuesday we're off to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks (we changed our minds at the last minute from going to Yosemite) to see the trees and critters. Wednesday morning we leave for a 3-day trip to Disneyland (my favorite part of this whole week). From Disneyland we're heading for Morro Bay (picking up Barry's other sister, Kim, in Bakersfield on the way) and then to Monterey Bay. That's the most I've ever done in a one-week vacation. I told someone the other day, "You need to take three weeks of vacation at a time. One week to prepare, one week to enjoy, and one week to recover." (Please note: this was updated on 9/3/12 and 9/4/12 because I had some of the itinerary mixed up)
