I was thinking today how people in the past viewed the future and what it would be like. Many pictures I've seen show flying cars and really cool things that we still don't have today, but we have a lot of new technology that they didn't have back then (i.e. cell phones, iPads, etc.). I even have a picture of an advertisement from the 40's or 50's showing a bread truck parked in front of a house that makes the bread fresh, you just push a button to select what type of bread. I am thankful that although we do have "flying cars", they're limited in availability. Some people have enough difficulty driving on the ground

ReplyDeleteWe have wireless handheld communications devices that can send images, videos, and sound invisibly across the globe. We have vehicles that run with power from the sun. We are finally putting an AI in the hands of people everywhere. We even have an increasingly totalitarian government bent on watching our every move. (Orwell, you had it right! a few years off, but who's counting?) YET, I'm STILL not satisfied until I get my jetpack!
