I've Passed the Tests
Next month will mark 7 years of my employment with Davey Administration Group, a Third Party Administrator for employee benefit plans (401(k)'s, Defined Benefit Plans, etc.). I have been an Administrative Assistant all that time and have been encouraged by my employer, Tom Davey, as well as two other Senior Pension Administrators, Bharat "BB" Talwar and Gean Lynch, to move up. It has taken me awhile to get to this point because there is a lot to learn when it comes to all the regulations set forth by the Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service in regards to benefit plans. In order to become a Senior Administrator I needed a certificate from ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries)which meant taking two tests with 75 questions each. I also had to get at least 65 answers correct on each test in order to pass. The first test I got 68 questions correct and the second test I got 65 questions correct. What does all this mean? I don't know. I just thought I would share it. LOL Actually this means I will start taking on more responsibilities and making more money.
