Long time, no post

It's been almost 2 years since the last time I posted. Lots of exciting changes going on in my life right now. God has been answering prayers that I've been praying for years about and opening doors for me. If I remember to I'll post the exciting changes that are happening in my life later. I'm just not ready to right now. We're currently rehearsing for "The Centurion" at Truth Tabernacle. It's an Easter Presentation that we've done a couple of times before and this year there are a couple of new songs. Regarding some of the things that I've posted before, I still have my die-cast car collection (which continues to grow) and I'm currently driving a 2016 Ford Fusion. The crazy thing about the Fusion is that after driving a 2014 Ford Focus for 2 1/2 years, and having some mechanical problems, I decided to upgrade to the Fusion. I found out afterwards that my brother had just traded his Ford Fusion in for a 2016 model, since his lease was up. This is the first time in our lives that my brother and I have the same year, make and model vehicle. Of course his Fusion is white and mine is bronze fire. Well, like I said, I'll try to remember to post the exciting changes when everything has come to fruition. Right now they are a work in progress. Until then....

Emmaus 1:64 scale

Here's my 1:64 scale collection. This is my largest collection because the 1:64 scale is the easiest to buy at department and toy stores. It's hard to see but there's an armadillo in front of the green car holding up traffic.

Here's my 1:72 scale collection. Complete with a Disneyland Monorail and Star Tours vehicle. The white and blue restaurant is called Rory Maclaine's. I named it after my friends, David and Stephanie Barnes', son. The building in the foreground that is blocking the road is supposed to be a Pizza Hut.

End of an Era?

Well, it seems that almost everyone I used to blog with has quit blogging, except for Laura Berrier. Of course I was out of the picture for awhile myself. Hopefully some of my other friends will return to blogging someday. Meanwhile......

New Car

Well, after debating for the last 4-5 months on what to do with the Dodge Caliber when I paid it off, I finally made a decision. The final payment was made on October 15, 2013 and I traded it in on October 26, 2013 for a 2014 Ford Focus. I realize that many people would disagree with trading in a car that was paid off for a car with a payment, however, the Caliber's transmission was going out, there were 5 more motor mounts to replace (I had one replaced), and the trim on the outside was deteriorating. In Europe the Dodge Caliber was voted one of the worst vehicles built in the last 20 years. If only I would have known when I bought the car. NOTE: This post was originally created in 2013. I'm just now publishing it 2 years later.

Where has the time gone?

It's hard to believe that it's been 2 years since my last post. Not much has changed in that time. I traded the Dodge Caliber for a 2014 Ford Focus (which I really like), I gave up on the Home Inspection course (not exactly what I thought it would be), my weight still goes up and down like a merry-go-round, I'm still at PACE TPA (formerly Davey Administration Group), still attending Truth Tabernacle church, and still working on my "World of Emmaus miniature village". I actually have two villages because I have two scales, 1:64 & 1:72/HO scale. Perhaps I'll post some pictures someday. Until the next post.......

Gean M. Lynch

I'm sad to report that a dear friend of mine, Gean M. Lynch, has passed away this morning. Gean was an Administrator I worked with when I started Davey Administration Group over 9 years ago and was actually the person responsible for me getting hired. She retired about a year or so ago. My condolences go out to her family and her devoted Bishon Frise, Denali.

Well, this could very well be my last post. As you can tell I haven't been very motivated in the past year or so in keeping it updated and now I'm moving and don't plan on having internet in my new pad. I'll miss keeping up with my friends' blogs, fortunately I'll see them at church. If things work out in the future I just may pick it back up. God bless.

Updates

Well, it's been almost a year since I started the "Emmaus Project" which has turned into a catch all. This is the project to where I'm building a miniature town to go along with my blog. I've decided to use the 1:87, or HO scale, so that the cars are in perspective with the buildings. That leaves me with 4 vehicles since the others I had in the original picture were a slightly larger 1:72 scale. The houses in the picture I posted last March are being "renovated". I also have a Pizza Hut and a family restaurant of some sort that I still need to paint and glue together.

The "Home Inspection" course is coming along smoothly. I'm on my 4th kit already so I don't have much to go. I didn't realize there was so much to inspecting a house. This course involves inspecting everything from the house to the landscaping.

As for the Gym, I'm more out of shape than I realized. I'm getting on the treadmill at 3 mph, the elliptical machine wipes me out after 2 minutes, so the stationary bicycle is about the only equipment I'm not having an issue with. Well.....that and the weights which I'm maxing out on 20 lbs. I haven't seen any results yet but boy howdy have I felt some results. Until next time......

Joining the Gym

Well folks, today I joined the Gym. I believe it's a worthwhile investment, provided I go, and should help me to finally be able to wear some of the clothes that have sat dormant in my closet for a long time. My first session will be this coming Monday and I plan to go on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Of course we'll be going into Revival this coming week so I'll plan my Gym visits around that. Speaking of Revival, I'm still not sure who will be preaching for us but I'm sure looking forward to it.

Jello

I like Jello. It's such a light desert and so easy to make. Here lately I have tried a couple of ideas that apparently have been approved by my roommates since I have been designated to be the Jello preparer. Last week I prepared lime-flavored Jello and added cherries to it. Kinda like a cherry-lime drink. Last night I prepared lemon-flavored Jello and added strawberries to it. There's still strawberry, strawberry-banana and raspberry in the garage (that where we keep it). I'm so inspired I'm wanting to go to the grocery store right now and see what other flavors there are. Jello is a great alternative to all of the other deserts that I am sooooo over after the holidays. But then again, perhaps one day Jello will have flavors like chocolate chip cookie, red velvet cake, fudge brownie, oh, I'd better stop.

Happy New Year

Wow, 2012 has passed and now we've entered 2013. Although I don't know everything that will happen this year there are a couple of things that I'm looking forward to that, by the grace of God, will happen. One of them is I will finally have my Dodge Caliber paid off. Not having a $365.00 per month car payment will be wonderful. Another thing is that I will have completed my Home Inspection course and will hopefully start a new career in addition to working at Davey Administration Group. Through U.S. Career Institute, I've been taking a course that is teaching me how to inspect houses from the foundation to the roof. Speaking of Davey Administration Group, this month marks 9 years since I started working there. I will try to keep my blog readers updated on the progress. God bless.

Doomsday Delayed?

Well folks, it looks like we made it through another "Doomsday" unscathed. It amazes me that the same people that believe such nonsense often criticize Christians for our faith that one day Jesus will return and takes us away from here. Hmmm.

Where's Jesus?

Every year when I buy Christmas cards I try to find nice cards that have a manger scene on the front since, of course, Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Today when I went to a store to pick out Christmas cards for my family I was disappointed when I found only 1 card, out of about 100, that had a manger scene on it. To add insult to injury the Greeting Card Companies producing "Christmas cards" nowadays seem to think that America wants to send holiday greetings with vulgarities. And they get worse every year. What a shame for them to think that Americans are so low-classed and simple-minded as to buy that kind of garbage. Well, Jesus is STILL the Reason for the Season and these are only signs that He's coming back soon.

Elder Morton's 40th Pastorial Anniversary

Last night Truth Tabernacle of Fresno, CA celebrated Elder Vaughn Morton's 40 years of being our pastor. We had several speakers including Elder Morton's youngest son Bro. Nathan Morton and singing from Caroline Rogers, Sis. Kristi Morton, and the Truth Tabernacle Choir. I was only 3 years old when Elder Morton became the pastor and my parents had only been attending Truth Tabernacle for about a year so he's the only pastor I ever remember having. Even when I was out of church for 10 years (1979 to 1989) I still considered him my pastor. I consider being in "Morton's Boot Camp" and experiencing his "sidekick" a blessing because I know that I have a Pastor that loves me and cares for my salvation. It was said several times that Elder Morton is a real Christian and it's true. I have witnessed it for myself.

40 Years Later

It's amazing how much people change, or not change in 40 years. The photo immediately above was taken last month and the photo above it was taken about 40 years ago when I was about 3 and Gary was about 4 or 5 (he's 1 year and 9 months older than me). Although I'm not wearing glasses in the older photo, I did wear glasses back then. In fact I still have them.
