More Pics From My Birthday Week

Okay, so it's been two weeks already. I couldn't think of anything new to post so I figured I'd post a couple more pics from the birthday party my family had for Steph and I. The top one is Stephanie with her dad Gary (my brother of course). The second one is Stephanie wearing my Mom's bridal veil that was one of the gifts my Mom gave to her for her birthday.

The Day After

Well, now that the preliminaries are over and I'm officially 41, life must continue. Last night I celebrated my birthday with my Dad, Mom, Gary, Stephanie, and Jill (my nieces Mom). My Mom and Steph made homemade pizzas (even the crust was homemade). I'll post some pictures next week. Later I'm going to my Aunt Denita's to visit because my Uncle Robert and Aunt Margaret who are here from Casper, Wyoming and tomorrow is his 80th birthday. Tomorrow I'll be going to Monterey with my Dad.

Happy Birthday To......Us

Today is my 41st birthday. Like I told my Aunt Debbie in a text message, "I'm not old. I've just been here a long time." That's a saying I got from my Grandma Smith who still had her high school figure when she was in her 90's. Of course as I've stated in previous posts I share my birthday with two other family members. I was born on my Aunt Linda's 11th birthday and my niece, Stephanie, was born on my 20th birthday. A lot can happen in 41 years so I'm thankful that I was born and raised in the truth. Although I spent 10 years of my life out in the world, God guided me back into the fold. That's been over 20 years ago and I'm happy to say I'm still living for God and loving it.

Surprise!!

Last night after church I went to Denny's thinking it would just be my Mom and I but discovered that it was a surprise birthday party for me. 31 friends showed up and made it a special event. I received some wonderful gifts including money, gift cards, a shirt and tie set, a cooker thing, and money to by my own birthday card (LOL). This was the best birthday I've had in years thanks to my Mom and 31derful friends.

Thank God It's Friday

Friday's are wonderful because for most people it's the end of a work week and that means there will be two days of rest and relaxation. Of course for me that means nine days of rest and relaxation since I will be on vacation next week. I have no plans other than to get together with my Dad, Mom, Gary, and Stephanie for our (mine and Stephanie's) birthday. Steph want's to get together at her new pad and have pizza which is cool with me. I think I'm having more difficulty with her turning 21 than I am with me turning 41. She's not this little blond girl anymore, but she's still special to me. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too. Even if you have to work next week.

A Climber, A Camper, and A Quitter

Last night Elder Morton preached a tremendous message involving climbers, campers, and quitters. Climbers are those people who continually progress, campers are those people who don't progress, and quitters are those who just give up. Sometimes we may be a camper but we should always be a climber (especially those of us who get into DEEP trouble). While quitting is certainly not a good thing to do, camping for too long, spiritually speaking, isn't a good thing to do, either. With all this I say KEEP CLIMBING.

Assimilated into the Collective

No I'm not a Borg, but I've just become part of the "Iphone Crowd". Since I'm just starting out on this venture, I'm buying Carlos Serna's 3G (he now has the 4G). I'm still not much of a cell phone person and I still hate text messaging so we'll see how this goes. On the subject of cell phones, the church down the street from the one I go to has a sign on their board that reads, "Honk if you love Jesus. Text message while driving if you want to meet Him."

Keurig Flavor Update

This week I purchased Butter Toffee flavored coffee for my Keurig coffee maker. I also tried two different flavored coffee creamers, Vanilla Caramel and Italian Sweet Cream. The Italian Sweet Cream definately tasted better. Have a wonderful Labor Day and enjoy your three day weekend, those of you that get one.
